Even then, much evidence suggests that recovery efforts rarely foster customer loyalty.<\/p>\n<p>Companies often stumble when attempting to bridge the gap between <strong>promise\/potential<\/strong> and <strong>reality.<\/strong> As they build their brand in the market and strive to earn loyalty, they must make the necessary investments in customer experience to solidify the brand. For example:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Marketing and advertising<\/strong> must reinforce the brand promise.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Engineering and product management<\/strong> must develop products that highlight the brand.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pre-sales and sales<\/strong> must operate in ways that strengthen the brand.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Operations and customer service<\/strong> must deliver on the brand&#8217;s value.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These elements of seamless customer experience delivery must work in harmony, connecting <strong>capabilities<\/strong> with <strong>reality.<\/strong> In companies with strong brand loyalty, brand management is inherently customer experience management.<\/p>\n<p>You cannot advertise your way to brand loyalty.
